Thomas Keesecker Piano Concert

THOMAS KEESECKER IN CONCERT, MARCH 8

Composer and pianist Thomas Keesecker will present a free concert of his works at 4 PM on Sunday, March 8, at St. Paul’s, Glenside. Keesecker is renowned for his delightful and meditative piano arrangements of hymns (many of which have been heard at St. Paul’s during services). He mixes classical technique, jazz improvisation, Celtic, and folk music influences in his arrangements. At this concert, we’ll be able to sing some of his hymn settings together, as well as listen to his piano interpretations. The hymns will be interspersed with works by the esteemed poets Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry.

Thomas Keesecker served as a church musician for over 40 years in Lutheran and Roman Catholic parishes in Virginia, Montana, and Maryland. His sacred music is published by several leading church music publishers. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Catholic University School of Music in Washington, D.C. His music may be listened to on Amazon Music, Spotify, and YouTube.  CDs of his music will be available for purchase after the concert.
