Sunday School

Sunday School
Sunday mornings we offer a variety of educational opportunities for our congregation’s children and their friends and neighbors. Sunday School begins with age three and offers weekly educational opportunities for children through grade six. Sunday School begins promptly at 9:15am and ends at 10:15am. We ask that parents of children from Kindergarten through second grade pick up their children in Fellowship Hall at the end of Sunday School.

Threes and Fours Class (Pre-Kindergarten)
Children ages three and four are welcomed into the educational setting with age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities using Augsburg Fortress’s Spark curriculum. Children in this group will engage with the Bible through storytelling, art, snack, music, and game stations. Parents are welcome to stay with their children in this class and engage with them in these early learning activities. This class is active September through May.

Kindergarten through Sixth Grade
Children in this age range enjoy an exciting, rotation-based Sunday School experience. Our children open their Bibles each week and engage with Scripture using Augsburg Fortress’s Spark curriculum. In the rotation model, children form two groups (lower elementary and upper elementary) and spend about four weeks on a particular Bible story, engaging in a different workshop each week to help them learn more about the story. Workshops include: Art, Bible Skills and Games, Computer Lab, Cooking, Creative Drama, Music, Science, and Video. This class is active September through May.

Kids Club
Fun and learning continues into the week for the children with Kids Club on Thursdays (during the academic year). This program offers kids a time during the week to play together, serve together, read scripture, pray, and sing. Most of the kids involved with Kids Club sing in one of the children?s choirs, but all kids are welcome. The program runs from 4-6 p.m.

For more details about children’s choirs and Kids Club or to find out how you can support the program by making a meal, please contact Director of Music, Rae Ann Anderson.

Sunday School Family Parties
On special days throughout the church year, all Sunday School children and their families come together to celebrate as a large group. We learn about special holy days in the church and other commemorations that are important to our history through games, storytelling, crafts, singing, and themed snacks. Contact the church office for more information or to register your child: 215-884-3005.
